For Upper Elementary and Middle School Teachers
MMUN is pleased to announce a free webinar: “Navigating the UN website for treaties, statements, resolutions”, held by Chris Talamo (International MUN Association) and Judith Cunningham.
Please note that only teacher coordinators who have taken the MMUN workshop can join us for the free webinar.
This webinar was an overview for MMUN teachers on how authentic UN sources can be incorporated into students’ research for MUN conferences. The webinar focused on just two of the many information databases available from the UN: PaperSmart and the Official Document System (ODS). UN PaperSmart boasts a simple interface and easy access to recent speeches working papers, and resolutions, especially from the General Assembly. The ODS, on the other hand, is far more comprehensive, although it is also more difficult to navigate. However, teaching students how to use these important databases will allow them to connect directly with the language and arguments used by the ambassadors that they are representing, making them powerful tools for education.
Please forward any advance questions to firstname.lastname@example.org so they can be answered during the webinar.
