For students: Have Your Voice Heard on International Affairs

After the closing session at the UN General Assembly, channel your energy into global affairs activism. This two-day workshop gives you the opportunity to experience news reporting and media coverage on current international storylines like never before.

 

Activity Description
Report your views on global affairs

Saturday 5:00PM until 9:00PM

·      Be coached by professional journalists on delivering your message using video (a green screen) as well as audio (podcast interview)

·      Pizza dinner at the Marriott

Experience a World News Live at NYC syndicated news studio

Sunday 9:00-12:30

·      Learn how news organizations operate

·      See how live broadcasts are produced

·      Discover news stories in action

·      Café Lunch

Discuss with professional journalists on interpreting news

Sunday 12:30- 15:00

·      Hear about journalists’ experiences on reporting sensitive world issues

·      Get tips on how to understand the “real” story (what is said and unsaid)

 

Cost: $250 per Student

Participants: Students from 10-18 years
