MMUN Leadership Training Program
For Montessori Teachers and High School Students
As a Montessori teacher or a high school student with experience in MMUN, you are invited to attend the MMUN Leadership Training. Our goal is to educate Montessori teachers and former MMUN delegates to take on the role of Committee Chair, Vice-Chair and Rapporteur so that our conference is truly anchored in Montessori practices and principles.
Just as a dedicated Montessori faculty is the core of a successful Montessori school, it is equally important for MMUN. The professionalism of theCommittee Chair, Vice-Chair and Rapporteur may look easy, but it is the result of having been coordinators or delegates and then learning the role and responsibilities for the BUREAU. As a Bureau member, your MMUN conference registration fee and shared hotel room at the annual event will be waived. In addition, Vice-Chairs or Rapporteurs under the age of 18 are granted with 1 (one) conference registration fee and round trip transportation to the Final Assembly venue for 1 (one) adult chaperone, and Committee Chairs are granted a food stipend for the duration of the conference.
- To become eligible to participate in the MMUN Leadership Training, it is mandatory that you have attended at least one MMUN Conference.
- High school students are required to travel and lodge with an adult chaperone. Adult chaperones are not required to attend the training sessions.

Q: What is the MMUN Bureau Leadership Training? What is it for?
It is a two-day course designed for teachers and high school students who have attended at least one MMUN Conference. It enables them to become a bureau member, the organ in charge of leading the committee sessions. In fact, the Bureau represents one of the progression possibilities for students as they are ready to take on new roles of leadership. Bureau roles include Committee Chair, Vice Chair, Rapporteur, or MMUN Secretariat (depending upon the level of experience within Bureau roles).
Q: Is this training a one-time course?
Yes. Although you will be also participating in a selection process while you will be trained. The MMUN board will select the members and their position according to the participants’ performance during the training.
Q: I am new to MMUN, can I register to participate in the MMUN Leadership Training?
No, this training requires experience in MMUN Conferences. If you are new to the MMUN program you will need to go through learning by experiencing the preparation and measure procedures prior to and during the MMUN Conferences. You need to be a trained MMUN teacher, a high school student, or former middle school student with previous experience in MMUN Conferences to participate in the MMUN Leadership Training.
