MMUN New York Conference

Conference Location

New York is the host city of 2 (two) MMUN conferences. In 2018, Upper Elementary and Middle School students will have committee representation at both February and March Conferences.

The New York Marriott Marquis Hotel is the official venue for the first 3 days of the MMUN New York City Conference, and where participants will be lodged. On the fourth and last day of the conference, delegates will gather at the United Nations General Assembly at 46th Street and 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10017 for the Voting & Closing Ceremony.

Schools new to MMUN

Schools participating for the first time can only register after attending a MMUN Teacher Workshop. The MMUN Teacher Workshop is a two-day course that will enable teachers to prepare students to attend the MMUN Conferences as delegates. If you have already registered for one of the upcoming MMUN Teacher Workshops, you must contact info@nullmontessori-mun.org to request that spots are reserved for your delegation and provide the number of students in your group. Upon receipt of your email request, we will reserve spots for your students until the date immediately after completion of your training.

Eligibility

The Montessori Model UN Program and its conferences are designed for Upper Elementary and Middle School students ages 9-15.

All MMUN coordinators, whether experienced or new, are required to watch the MMUN4UN Webinar prior to registering a school group to attend any of the MMUN Conferences. The MMUN4UN Webinar video contains new procedures and policies, and it was created to ensure coordinators are given additional and essential guidelines to properly prepare student delegates for all MMUN Conferences.

** Participant registration fee includes: entrance to conference facilities and its events, lodging in quadruple accommodations for 3 nights at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel (Check-in at 4pm on February 21st and Check-out at 12pm on February 24th), porterage fees for 1 luggage piece per person, roundtrip transportation to and from the UN for the Voting Assembly and Closing Ceremony.

Huge Savings!

MMUN extended its tax exemption benefit to all participating schools, which means that all conference related fees are tax-exempt. This represents savings of over 15% in city, state and occupancy taxes.

  • Individual Observers

If you are not a member of a school group and would like to attend a MMUN conference, you can register yourself as an individual observer. The registration fee per participant is dependable on the type of accommodations you choose and whether or not you will have other individuals joining you on this journey.

Terms and Conditions

  • Conference fees are in $USD (American dollars) and do not include meals, airfare or airport transfer.
  • Late registrations are subject to a $150USD supplemental fee per participant. Early bird pricing ends on Dec 15th, 2017.
  • Refunds are subject to a 10% processing fee.
  • Fees are not refundable after Dec 15th, 2017.
  • Conference registration is not complete until all conference fees are paid in full. Only registered participants will be allowed entrance to the conference facilities and its events as well as access to benefits and services included in the conference fees.
  • Participants registered online are also required to be registered and credentialed on-site.
  • New registrations or payments will not be accepted past the deadline or on-site.
